You are beautiful, Mommy

My kid said the sweetest thing to me. "You are beautiful, Mommy." It came out of nowhere and it just melted my heart!

The next day, she found a plastic musubi mold in my kitchen drawer. It was very dusty, and as far as kitchen gadgets go, it doesn't even qualify as pretty. It's not Williams-Sonoma. It's Long's 99 cent discount.

This is Beautiful

And she goes, "Look at what I have, Mommy! This is beautiful!"

Oh. And I thought I was special.

well my youngest son knows how to get to me..he says mom you are so "beautiful"....so mom can you make me pizza! yes when my youngest son compliments he will ask for something but I cannot resist....HE GOT ME TWISTED INTO HIS LITTLE PALM!

my son says MOM YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL then he gives me big huge hug then next thing I end up shopping in the mall buyign him hat or a watch..I ALWAYS FOR FALL FOR HIS ANTICS.

BUT when my oldest son compliments me he really means it.

  2. Rosette:

  3. Rosette:

yes it is kind of funny when my son compliments me MY HEAD START TO GET BIG....omg ! I often wonder do you really mean it or are you mocking me!

  4. Rosette:

I don't have daughters so my oldest son I rely on him to compliment me..funny....if he says mom you are so beautiful then I say really?..is it the shoes or the lipstick or what! so then I go grab my powder !!!

Last year my 4 year-old grandson and I went to Haleiwa beach and stopped at Aoki's for shave ice. We were sitting outside on the curb and in between slurps he said, "you da best grandpa!" ...made my day, even if it took shave ice and the fact that his other grandpa is on the big island and have seen him only a handful of times. He probably would have said the same thing to his other grandpa under the same circumstances.

LOL! That's a great story. I wouldn't discount the compliment. I think you really are beautiful to her, and the musubi maker is beautiful in a different way. :)

It is a great story and as 9th isle girl noted Olivia is right on both counts!

Plus she is oh so smart, why pay Williams-Sonoma prices when you can get a functional item and Long's and buy say a nice bottle of wine or a suitably decadent dessert for the money you saved? Dang, Diane, Olivia is really smart.
