Hurricane Halloween 2014
Hurricane Ana or not, Paul Drewes and I held our annual Halloween-season party at Moanalua Mortuary. It started as a KHNL event in 2009, but has expanded to include our new work circles (KITV, KHON) and friends. About 80 people attended this year.
We never do it on Halloween, but rather, a week or two before. We have little children who need to be taken trick-or-treating on the 31st.
Unfortunately, it happened on the day Hurricane Ana (at that point, Tropical Storm Ana) hit Oahu, so almost no working media were there because all the stations had been on 12 hour shifts in the lead up to this weather event. A number of guests also opted to stay home rather than brave the dreary rains.
This party featured Candy Art Hawaii's amezaiku candy making and photo booth, psychic Darrell Harada, and a mortuary tour.
I also asked a bunch of people for help this year, which made life easier. I'm grateful for friends' help! Thank you!
Mahalo also to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, HonoluluPulse.com, Jason Genagabus, and Kat Wade for including this as an event in the HonoluluPulse.com. All watermarked photos are courtesy of HonoluluPulse.com.
I love seeing the costumes and just hanging out with friends!
